Enjoy a FUN & FREE Scavenger Hunt
Around Delta this BC Family Day Weekend.
Let's all get outside and have some fun together! A Free Family Scavenger Hunt is taking place in Delta over the next month. The scavenger hunt includes 20 fun activities to do in and around Delta. Booklets can be picked up any time after January 27th from a Delta Library (Tsawwassen, Ladner or North Delta). The activities are designed to be done as a family and all families are welcome to join in the fun.
Andrea Lemire, the Delta Kids coordinator, says “the COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on families and we at Delta Kids wanted to bring some joy during these challenging times. Normally we hold an in-person event on Valentine’s Day but this year we had to get creative! This scavenger hunt is meant to give families some fun activities to do together, a way to celebrate Family Literacy Day (January 27th), Valentine’s Day, and Family Day.”
Families should bring their completed booklet back to any of the three Delta library locations by February 20th. The first 400 children to do so will receive a brand new book, appropriate for their age. Each family will also be given a bag filled with information about programs and services for children and families in Delta – as well as some surprise goodies.
The Delta Child and Youth committee would like to acknowledge and thank the Delta Foundation for the funding they provided to purchase the books.
Updates on the event will be posted on the Facebook page of Delta Literacy.
