16 KM to Bike, from Shorelines to Farmlands

Wildlife Encounters

Stay focused on your cycling, but keep your eye out to capture everything from slithering snakes to hunting raptors. Yes, these shorelines are quite diverse, taking you down into the mud flats of Boundary Bay. Where the dyke meets 12th, you'll find a small sign right at the entrance alerting of a snake habitat. Don't disturb these little fellers, but they are fun to spot as they poke their heads in and out of the rocks. Eagles, snowy owls, herons, and migrating birds are all here! Want to slow things down? A few convenient benches along this route provide peaceful vantage points for watching shoreline life.

A short ride through flat farmlands and quaint streets (remember to yield to working farmers here!), Barnside Brewing offers cyclists an authentic farm-to-glass experience nestled in Delta's agricultural heartland, where century-old barn beams frame panoramic views across working hop yards. It even has some biker-friendly perks like dedicated bike parking, repair stations, and a 4-season covered patio perfect for post-ride relaxation and a break from the elements.

A few pedals past Barnside, you can hit Four Winds Taproom & Taco in Tilbury - or as locals call it, the original Four Winds. Here, award-winning craft beer meets exceptional house-made tacos in a hip industrial setting. Despite its unassuming location, this brewery has become a beloved cycling destination thanks to easy access via the Millennium Trail and proximity to Deas Island.
