Altmaerker is a small, family-owned business that opened in Spring 2012 in North Delta. The owners, Sandra and Stephan, have been working hard to keep their customers, staff and family safe during the pandemic and responded quickly when the new rules and standards were implemented following the outbreak. In fact, on March 18, they published the following message on social media and posted it outside and inside their store:
What We Are Doing to Keep our Customers and Staff Safe
With all of the concern about COVID-19, we wanted to outline to you the steps we are taking on a daily basis:
Cleaning all processing equipment, work surfaces and floors in our production area.
Cleaning all coolers, work surfaces, counters, scales, meat slicers and floors in our customer service area.
Ensuring coolers, refrigeration stations and freezers are functioning at the correct temperatures.
Limiting customers to 2 at any one time - one comes out, one goes in.
Asking customers to pay by debit or credit card using the Tap feature.
Asking everyone to keep a suitable distance between themselves and other customers.
And, most importantly, thoroughly washing our hands after every sale and transaction.
As an additional precaution, the childrens’ seating and play area is now closed. Taking these steps will help us continue to serve you in a safe environment. We thank you for your continuing support of our family’s business. Precautions continued with hand sanitizer being provided to customers, plexiglass barriers being put in place, physical distance markers placed on the floor and constant cleaning.
And, in the midst of all of this, the Tills still went forward with an online Mother's Day Giveaway, new product announcement with Lac La Hache Bakery, an online #DeliNinja Contest and an online Father's Day BBQ Swag Giveaway.
